Who is Maria Furlano?

I'm Maria Furlano. I could not recall my first art installation, it was either my very first clothing collection making tissue dresses for my dolls (which proves I was ahead of my time) or gluing and cutting wood together in my garage, in Caledon East. My greatest gift was boredom, I was, as many were in the 80's & 90's, left to my imagination; my mind wondered and my hands moved; every chance I got I wanted to make something. I wanted to make it different, I wanted to make it beautiful. I had very simple motivations and they have stayed with me throughout life. This idea of making something beautiful followed me; into business, motherhood, my home, how I organized my life, how I lived my life, travel and of course my art work. It was my motivator at my core.

Over time and experience, the lessons that have been reinforced throughout time have been that beauty can be found everywhere when we live intentionally and make moments into rituals.

True luxury is always found in the little things.

Obviously a lot of effort and dedication to my craft has led me from from tissue dresses to this point. We will see what's to come?
